Kym’s wish was to be able to attend her daughter’s wedding.
Laura – the youngest of Kym’s four children, and the last to marry – organised her wedding in only four weeks, meaning Kym would be able to see all of her children get married.
Unfortunately, Kym’s health deteriorated and she was admitted to the Palliative Care ward at St John of God Bunbury Hospital.
Recently, Kym was able to travel to the Guildhall Event Space in North Fremantle to participate in her daughter’s marriage ceremony.
Laura said “I cannot thank you enough for supporting my mum the way you did. You made my wedding day full, I am forever grateful for the beautiful gift you gave my family. Thank you.”
Thanks to volunteers Louise, Pamela and Gary for accompanying Kym on her wish – the longest wish currently undertaken by Ambulance Wish Western Australia, with Kees traveling a total 730 km and the crew providing care for over 9 hours.
Congratulations to Laura and Ira – may your love be everlasting as the rings upon your fingers.
The Ambulance Wish Western Australia final wish programme is only made possible through donations, and so we are extremely grateful to everyone who helps us create special memories for people like Kym.
If you would like to help our charity fulfil more final wishes and create forever memories, please make a donation to Ambulance Wish Western Australia.
If you would like to accompany our wish recipients on their wish, please volunteer.
Fulfilling wishes, celebrating lives!
