Janice’s wish was simple: to go for coffee with her husband and see the ocean.
Janice and her husband used go get a coffee and sit by the beach at Cottesloe almost daily, but since returning from hospital, Janice remained mostly bed bound and had not left the house.
Recently, Janice was able to leave her bed at home and spend precious time at Cottesloe Beach, surrounded by family and love. For a few hours, her medical needs faded away and the beach became a place of comfort, connection and peace.
This wish was made possible thanks to our incredible volunteers, Bron, Emma and Leone, who accompanied Janice and her family every step of the way.
At Ambulance Wish Western Australia, we help terminally ill West Australians fulfil their final wishes — whether that’s visiting a place filled with memories, ticking off a lifelong dream, or sharing one last meaningful moment with loved ones.
We provide this service at no cost to wish recipients or their families. Every wish is made possible by the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers, including qualified healthcare professionals, who give their time and expertise.
If you’d like to help us create more moments like Janice’s, please consider donating.
Every contribution helps turn a final wish into a cherished memory.
